Astaro Security Gateway virtual appliances are geared towards IT personal responsible for consolidating servers in order to reduce costs for hardware, software and maintenance. By allowing for a step-by-step deployment of each security component Astaro Security Gateway virtual appliances offer a secure migration path into a completely virtualized environment.

Furthermore, they can also be used by managed services providers for running multiple UTM instances concurrently on the same virtualized platform. All Astaro Security Gateway virtual appliances are classified as VMware Ready.

The virtual appliance can be downloaded and burned independently onto a CD. It can then be installed on any system running either a VMware player, VMware workstation, VMware server or VMware ESX server.

Best performance results are experienced when using hardware specifications at or beyond: Intel Dual/Quad-Core CPUs >2GHz, 2GB RAM. Specific licensing packages are available, varying by the number of users/IP addresses.
